Try an LEDTronics "FlashLED".
This is an aluminum body light that uses either 3 or 6 LEDs, and comes in most of the visible LED colors.
I have a page about the LEDTronics FlashLED series on my website at http://ledmuseum.home.att.net
The last time I tried one they had Cree blue-green LEDs in it and it wasn't that bright, but the LEDs are easily replaceable with Nichia NSPE510 or NSPE520 for blinding brightness.
