Hey everyone,

I'm wondering how this tailcap operates. If you don't have a pressure pad connected, is it possible to turn on the light by screwing the tailcap tight, similar to a Z41? Or is it completely inoperable without a tape switch connected?

Thanks for the replies guys. Hopefully someone with hands on experience with one of these can reply and confirm one way or the other.

I just looked at both of my M4 Devastators. They didn't come thru with the tail cap that yours did. Both of my lights came with the XM00 and XM10 dual tail caps.

The XM00 is without the tape switch and the XM10 is with the 10" tape switch.

I believe that without the cable, the light won't turn on even if you screw the cap all the way down.

Pulled my M962 weapons light out of storage that has the same UM tail cap that you show. Without the tape switch, the light will not function. That's a fact.

Thank you! A little disappointing, but thank you for confirming.
