Luxeon Star

Hello,

This is my first post in this site; I'm sorry if it's slightly OT.

I'm building a LED lamp for an photographic enlarger, using 3W Luxeon Stars (green and blue, one of each).

Questions:

- Is the emitter in the Star insulated from the mounting plate?
- I'm under the impression that a Lambertian one would give a more even illumination. Am I right?

Thanks,

Jorge

Jorge, the emitter slug/base is thermally connected to the star/mounting plate. The Lambertian has a standard maxwellian /bell shaped light distribution pattern meaning more light is emitted directly from the center of the emitter than the edges.
