Both of those are the two top options for a 14500. The SC5 on eneloop pro will give you 3 mins of turbo vs 1 so if the length of brightness is important the SC5 is a better option. The EA11 is going to give you the best output however at roughly 800-900 lumens but much shorter runtime around 12-15 mins.

The one issue here is that the SC5 is not a 14500 light. If you want to run 14500s for reasons other than maximum brightness (like easier wilderness charging vs NiMH), then you are out of luck with the SC5.

Thrunite Neutron V2, much more efficient on lows than the EA11, not to mention current regulated.

Nitecore SRT3 (550 Lum.) is my brightest 14500 light... maybe the brightest available. Zebralight SC52w is a close second (500 Lum.)

Hi Amelia,

If you say that the Nitecore SRT3 "may" be the brightest available, please be aware that Nitecore itself does Not agree with you.

Nitecore EA11 takes the cake for brightness while running a 14500: 900lm to 550lm.

Thanks,

-Chuck

People get way too concerned with total lumen output.

For one, in a light like this, I'd personally have way less lumens, more throw and a NW XP-G2.

For max output, any XP-L/XM-L2 with a direct drive like high and a good IMR will offer up the highest output. But what a lousy runtime you'll get too.

Maybe you can swap the main emitter to neutral tint.

I did so on my Nitecore EC11. It wasn't that hard.

I'm currently selling my MH20 because I want a neutral. Wonder if that would be an easy swap?

Off the top of my head, ZL SC52w and Thrunite Neutron 2A V2. I really wanna try out that Neutron.
