Why is my EagleTac PN20A2 eating batteries?

My EagleTac PN20A2 has been with me 13 months. It has been a rock solid light for the first 12. Starting about a month ago, it began eating batteries. FAST. NiMH batteries give a low-beam runtime of about an hour. Alkalines about an hour and a half.

Used to be, I would change out the NiMH about every 8-10 work days. Now I'm changing them every two. And these are not old batteries - fresh stock go into the charger every month.

So what changed?

Try putting freshly charged batteries in and leave it off overnight. Remove the batteries and test them.

Have you tried cleaning all the contact points, in the light ,charger and the battery terminals?
