I've been eye-balling this model for 2-3 yrs now. I might just have to treat myself a Daddy's Day treat this month. I'd use 3 NIMHs with it...

  • Long Range Focusing Optic
  • Slide Focus
  • 970 lumen light output
  • 8 hour runtime
  • 479 meter (1,571 ft) beam distance
  • Aluminum casing; Front switch
  • Length: 13.12 in. / 33.3 cm
  • Weight: 1.9 lb. / 862 g
  • Diameter: Body - 1.53 inches; Bezel - 2.12 inches
  • 3 X D batteries (included)
  • Impact and water resistant

Ive got this light and it is a BIG light! One of the much better Coasts out there. I use 3 10000mah NiMH Tenergy cells and it works great! Yes by all means invest in some GOOD NiMH D cells for it for max performance I hope you have a good NiMH charger that can handle D cells (any MAHA that can charge D's) will do. Enjoy the light!

...has amazing throw range. Best out of any of the Coast lights I believe and better than most its LED Lenser cousins as well. Just charged my HP17 Tenergy cells. Think Ill take it for a walk tonight

EBL? Dont know them unless the E stands for Energizer lol. Have had amazing luck with Tenergy 10000mah cells must have and use a dozen. I keep the Tenergys in my HP17 wrapped in a sheet of newspaper to keep them from rattling

just make sure when you order it that you are indeed getting the new XP-L 970 lumen version and not the old one
