Btw, is Okluma TinyDC the official name? Any significance to TinyDC? My brain is cooked this week so if it's obvious, forgive me.
I'll do my best to get the current levels right.

Okluma is the name of my company, and TinyDC is the name of the light. TinyDC is a play on words (or sounds?), with the y also making an E sound. So if you say with a slight emphasis on the y, it sounds like "TinyEDC". It's silly I know but when I thought of it, it made me chuckle a little.

Nah, it's not silly, it's just fine. I was simply curious.

You should see some of the stupid names people give to other flashlights! Especially those who do not give much thought to how they will sound to native language speakers. Not everything translates!

    Some approximates with

    1 LED
    OTF, Nichia 219A

    4 mA = 0.1 lumens
    8 mA = 2-3
    80 mA = 22
    300 mA = 80
    1200 mA = 240

These were my last levels for a haiku build.

My levels won't be too relevant so email sent with suggestion.

Great to see your work. Your nomenclature is interesting. I'm just wondering if your name is pronounced O-K-Lumen, or something like Oak-Lumen?

Or maybe Oklahoma Lumen? Would make sense since he's located in OKC, OK. Or maybe it's pronounced Oh-kla-lu-ma.
Who needs to see the light at the end of the tunnel when you have friends on CPF?

Initially it was OKLumen. I wanted some combination of Oklahoma and lumen. One of my friends suggested Okluma. I liked that because it reminded me of Okuma, the company that makes lathes and mills. We think it's pronounced "Oh-klu-ma", but my wife likes "Oh-Kay-Luma". Who knows? Again, it makes me laugh a little.

The current for the different modes is fixed. We're going with 2mA / 30mA / 180mA / 1300mA. We've got a real moonlight mode now. I'll update the original post accordingly.

It could be anodized if you masked off some of the threads. I'm on fence about anodizing knurls. I've seen it turn out really well, and I've seen it turn out really poorly. My anodizing guy does good work, but he gets grumpy when I bring him single parts so it's probably not a service I'll offer.

And there are no more left with the free trits. I'll order some more from Bart, and add this as an option.

You can have mine, his name is Kenny and he's grumpy. But I'd be grumpy too if I had to work around all those chemicals.

    Thanks.

Yeah, he's a good dog. But he still thinks he's a lap dog, and he's pushing 90lbs now.

no worries! I've heard more than a few times that GSDs think they're lap dogs despite their size

That didn't take long. I'm completely sold out. If you're interested in a light and you didn't get one, please subscribe to this thread because I'll announce it here.

Materials, tools, parts are all on their way for more lights, so stay tuned.

What would be the price of a bare host: body + bare pill, front glass, but no driver, leds, optics?

Also is the head diameter identical to that of a mac, so that 1inch surefire diffusers go loose?

I'd prefer to sell a complete light. I don't mind shipping the light un-assembled though.

The OD on my light is .990". I believe that's the same OD as Mac's, but I don't know for sure.
