You could use a single 16650 [ Keepower bt] for longer run times or a couple of 16340 Aw,s both top quality cells.

From an amazon advertisement
Battery Type: 2*CR123A/1*18650

I'd order a pair of Panasonic 18650b protected cells.
They will last the longest and I believe that they will be the most reasonably priced.
3400mah each, so you will have long run-times, and have one as a back-up. While protected cells will be a dollar or two more each, they're worth the difference in price, especially for a newbie,

Thank You, can i use the 18650's in the jetbeam? The owners manual didn't say i could use them but if i can use them i will do it. I know the 18650 will fit in the pc20.

I have 2 18650's *china* cheap brand. The 3800 mah LZ works however the BRC 4000mah will not work. Not sure why.

I just measured mine with digital calipers, the id of the battery tube measures 17.08mm. May be your ultrafire cell is in fact a 17670? Could be they have opened the battery tube id on later models, what id do u measure?

I have not measured it, i just dropped it inside the light. It says 18650 on it, both cells drop in fine. I got my flashlight from factory like this, it has not been modified. Maybe the newer models can take the 18650?

Like you mentioned, your other 18650 does not fit, i would measure it first before shelling out for expensive cells. Im betting your cell is 17mm od.
All of my good 18650,s are 18.2mm min od and are not even close to fitting mine. This was a impulse buy at a gun show[$25 a bargain] and the biggest disapointment for me was the lack of support for 18650,s.

No that's not what i said, i said the light would not come on with the BRB 4000mah, both 18650's fit. I have about 6 of them they all fit, i have tried every one but the 4000 mah will not turn on eventhough it fit's. I noticed the BRB round top tip of the battery is different from the LZ 3800, both are identical in size minus the little button at the top.

Just trying to help, even Jetbeams own website only mentions cr123a or rcr123. Ultaphony cells could be old rewrapped laptop pulls of any size and capacity. If you think you can squeeze a 18650 use the panasonic ncr18650b [18.30mm] button top for premium run times, im out.

Thank You for your help, so it's perfectly fine to run a 18650 in there if it fits? I also have DDC10 that i absolutely love but it takes one cr123. If i wanted to go with 123's what would be the best 123? the rtr's if so what brand besides aw?

AW RCR123 rated at 750mAh if you can find it.
Have few of them for my lights since few years ago and they have been solid so far
