Hello,
I'm interested in a specific style of light. I'd like one that can be screwed onto a tripod (i.e., a 1/4"-20 socket) but also is magnetic at the base. Ideally one that is a decent thrower (with a compact beam) and also relatively compact. Does anyone make such a light which combines these criteria?

If you find a light that has all of that, but no magnet, then glue a rare-earth magnet to the light?

One could, but the magnet (as I envision it) would have to then be drilled and threaded for the socket. I envision a flashlight that has a magnetic base that is already pre-drilled for attachment to a tripod.

You can get rare earth magnets with holes already in them. Check out KJ Magnetics. I've ordered many from them over the years for projects and they have a vast selection of magnets.
