I'm a content user of SPARK SD52NW but I'm looking around for a backup headlamp with an external battery pack. SPARK SX5 is almost perfect, it offers power sources variability and has perfect lower and medium brightnes volumes, however it's a little bit outdated. With my SD52 I barely use the high mode, but for the backup headlamp (especially one, which can be powered even with 4x18650 cells) I'd like to have more light and better runtimes. Is there anything on the market that it is better in terms of brightness and runtimes than SX5 while maintaining the power sources variability. External battery pack is a must, as well as similar moonligh, low and medium modes.

Thanks in advance.

Fenix is brighter, indeed, but Spark has much better runtimes in lower modes.
Fenix: 65lm - 32h40m / 4lm - 13 days (2x18650)
Spark: 55lm - 86h / 8lm - 42 days / moonlight - 380 days

I really like the Spark's moonlight mode. It provides enough vision for reading books and sneaking :)

Furhtermore SX5 can be powered with AA and Li-ion.
