What are my options to upgrade SF E1l

Greetings all,

I've got an older Surefire E1l, with a KX1 head on it. It's dual mode, 5 lumens low, 45 on high.
It's got a lot of sentimental value, but I don't carry it anymore because it just can't perform like some of my newer lights.
Do I have any options to upgrade it? If so, what sort of price am I looking at?

Cheapest I can think of is 3rd-party Q5 LED head from eBay, for about US$20, that has about 180-200 lumens.
There are other expensive upgrades which you can google here

I'd be willing to spend up to around 100 bucks, to be honest.

Can search for Tana Nichia upgrade here. Not sure how much though.
For about $70-80, there's also another option in eBay. Just have know where to search it

Have you looked into Malkoff Devices ? They have E1 upgrades heads.

I've given it a thought, but if at all possible I'd like to keep the original head, but just modify it. I've read on an older thread that it's a lot of work, so obviously it's not going to be cheap.

Check Lumens Factory. They have some E1 and E2 stuff available.
