Newly Enlightened
This pre-production Manker T01 was provided by one of the MANKER funder. He suggested that this little monster should be compared with turbo heads of SUREFIREs as he know I am a SUREFIRE collector.
Here are the specifications (500lm for an AA flashlight, I really doubt, however, the further comparison proved the T01 is a real little monster)
-CREE XPL-HI LED.
-Max Lumen Output: 500LM (drive by Eneloop Pro NI-MH battery).
-Max Lumen Output: 900LM (drive by Lithium Battery 14500).
-Peak beam intensity: 10,000 cd (drive by Eneloop Pro NI-MH battery).
-Peak beam intensity: 20,000 cd (drive by Lithium Battery 14500).
-Beam distance: 925ft/ 282m.
-Size: Length 84mm Head Diameter 29MM Tail Diameter 20mm
-Machine from aerospace grade solid aluminum bar.
-HA III MIL-Standard hard anodized, original color.
-IPX-8 waterproof standard of up to 2 meters/6.6 feet.
-Impact resist up to 2 meters/6.6 feet.
Pics…
Original HAIII, I love the finish as the texture of anodization seems familiar with SUREFIRE's natural HA III
Very hard press and I do believe the UI can be better. The area of knurling seems not sufficient enough, however, the handling feels not bad.
With the latest XPL-HI, the beam shot would be much more aggressive
The comparison SUREFIRE mods as follows:
SUREFIRE E2D with KL4-XML T47B@700ma;
SUREFIRE C2 with D26.5 drop-in-XML T4 7B@1200ma;
SUREFIRE L5 KL5-XML2 U21A@800ma;
SUREFIRE M4 with LED Tower-XML T4 7B@1400ma。。。
OK, guys, I know, I am addict to HI-CRI LED
Background at 12lux with distance at 1 meter. The following four pics demonstrate low(1)-med(1)-hi(1)-MAX(3)
KL4-XML T47B@700ma
KL5&D26.5, D26.5-XML T4 7B@1200ma&KL5-XML2 U21A@800ma
KT4-XML T4 7B@1400ma
Outdoor beam shots, 1/30s, F4.5, IS0 3200

D26.5-XML T4 7B@1200ma
KL5-XML2 U21A@800ma

MANKER T01@MAX
By the way, the MANKER T01 can use 14500 battery as an alternative and the output will reach 900lm! Wow…however, really not recommend as the temperature will increase dramatically.
In a word, this little monster is impressive and as shown in the outdoor beam shots, this guy can beat KL5 mod and even more, the KT4 turbo head!
Thanks for watching.
