shortage of long battery life headtorches

There seems to be a shortage of good quality headlamps ie 1000lumens + that are powered by 2x18650 batteries the trend seems to be all 1 battery torches ie zebralight nitecore xtar acebeam etc all great torches but changing batteries all the time is annoying i have resorted to carrying 2 torches but usually still have to do a battery change .
I did have an led lenser h14r.2 but did not like the beam tempted to try and mod a zebralight or my acebeam h10 to run of a battery pack as changing batteries in sand and rain is not fun whilst on the beach.

A popular torch that I see others use is the petzl ultra rush because of the longer life and so resiliant to harsh weather and sand etc

This ZL H600 external battery project might be what you're after. I wish Zebralight would make something similar of decent quality as my DIY skills are pretty poor!

Would change that to lack of reasonably priced headlamps that will do that. Decent list that will, but you better be ready to spend $300+. Now, for lower lumen numbers there are options.

There are both in this list. Found a few more likely ones to add to the list but not home so not done looking at them.
