So I would like to try to build a basic floodlight for use when working on my car and while camping. I have no experience building lights and some electrical knowledge so I was thinking for a first build it would be a good idea to go with a light that was already assembled.
I was thinking about wiring this mounted on this with a basic toggle switch attached to a separate battery pack (4x 18650). That would keep the light within the voltage range of the light and give me 13600mah of power to work with, would something like this work? Also, is there anyway I would be able to change this setup to allow for variable output?
Does this seem like the easiest way to go about doing this or is there a better way to introduce myself to all of the basics?

Sorry if these questions sound dumb but I couldn't find any posts giving much information on this kind of a set up other than a few very old posts that no longer had the pictures and links working. Which made them hard to gain much insight from.
Any help is appreciated.
