It seems that Niwalker has released another fine flashlight, the Aurora C26. I found this review here:

Nice catch, there's not many quality 1x26650 throwers out there, at least not using XP-L HI! :twothumbs

I hope to see more manufacturers develop single cell 26650 battery flashlights with the newest Cree LED's.

Agreed I like the 26650 cell and lights. I still use my 4Sevens X10.

I too would like to see more OEMs use XP-L HI and develop more 26650 lights.

That is pretty impressive. I dig the light that is wider.. I'd like to see a light made like that that took D cell batteries and dumped out 2000 lumens or 1000 lumens.

I agree and don't understand why more mainstream manufacturers don't create more 26650 options for us. The few times that they do the designs are usually a stray from conventional 18650 designs. I absolutely love my Eagletac SX25L2 and have been using it for duty purposes for probably 3 years with no problems. A single 26650 version of it with a tail switch would be great. This Niwalker looks pretty nice, I look forward to seeing more about it.

wish there was an english translation but what I was able to gather is that its a 400 meter light. My TK32 is a 400 meter light. Would love to see this light with a bigger reflector

I hope it can take a slightly longer 26700 because some of those batts have good characteristics.

The youtube shows this light is a real thrower - maybe at the expense of not enough spill. A very narrow beam and not much spill except at close range.

We also need to know more about the lighted power button. Hope it doesn't consume much power or have much parasitic drain since its an electronic button.

The length is 142mm = 5.6 inches - wow, very compact!

1400 lumens is decent but much smaller 1 x 18650 lights can do that now by overdriving the XPL. In order to justify the larger more powerful 26650, I think the light needs to put out more lumens - like some 2100 lumen XHP50 lights that are coming out now.

If Niwalker put an XHP50 LED into this light (like the Shadow JM35 1 x 26650 light), that would make it a real winner!

No we want MT-G2, not XHP50:naughty:

And the biggest advantage with a 26650 is better run times and better grip (at least for people with larger hands).

I also would like it to have a tiny bit larger head, is it just me or does the walls around the reflector look quite thick?

The reflector looks too small. All I keep thinking is that the strive is small in those photos ! I may have to pick one up now :shakehead

The reflector does look very small when you compare it to the size of the body tube.

The 2016 Shot Show interview with Olight shows what looks like a 1x26650 light putting out 3000 lumens.

Armytek has a tiny 1x18650 XHP50 headlamp putting out 1600 lumens OTF.

This Aurora seems a bit conservative by comparison - it needs more output.

I believe the Aurora has gone for a compact 26650 light with throw and output. 1400 lumens from a single XP-L HI V3 is pretty good.

Who knows maybe they will bring out a high output version to contest the Olight L5 Pro?

It would appear that my wallet is going to take battering this year. Yes!! :) lol

I hope they make a higher output model. 1400 lumens is pretty good for a 1x18650 but a 1x26650 can do much better.

Currently, a much smaller 1x18650 light can put out 1400 lumens. The Manker/BLF X6 XPL-HI is an example. It puts out even more than 1400 lumens and is much more compact. It is running at almost 6A on direct drive.

With a much larger and higher current battery (e.g. 26650) you can run a higher powered LED (XHP or MTG2 or multiple LEDs). Building a larger 26650 light needs to take more advantage of the higher power battery. Increasing the size of the light needs to come with an advantage - not just more runtime.

From the viewpoint of a flashlight enthusiast, there is not much reason to go and buy a specialized, larger and more expensive battery unless there is a significant reason to.

Generally speaking, the bigger the light and battery, the more light output we should expect. The smaller the light and battery, the less light output we should expect.

Single 26650 lights seriously rock. :twothumbs

...just crossed this thread after I stumbled over the C26 myself about a minute ago.

Can anyone suggest good reason why the big mfgs aren't making boost drivers for such lights? Maybe Im just naive, but I can't recall the last time I saw a single 26650 light with good power levels going to a 6v led like xhp50 or xhp70..

Know theyre out there because some of the 3x18650 lights run the cells parallel not series. Just seems like theyre fairly rare.
