I'm not aware of this feature available in any flashlight: a mode where the light automatically increases from moonlight mode to some preset level of light over a period of time - to simulate the rise of the sun in the morning.
There are non-portable solutions available, but they're very "pricey" considering what they are. It seems to me this would be trivial to do in a flashlight engine..."it's just software - right?" (coming from a sofware engineer)
This is the idea:

Ideally the light would have tailstand capability and have variable output.
Currently, I use a NC SRT7, which works wonderfully well, except for the fact that I have to do it manually.
I realize that having it start would require some type of alarm clock which might be problematic, but I wouldn't mind if I had to start it manually and it then did the rest automatically. Or just set it to start after X number of hours.
Maybe one of the custom light-engine guys might be able to do this?
The only related links I found with a search of CPF are:

Thoughts?
