I've seen the sticky and noted the pictures where the torch was waved to identify PWM, but noticed something funny yesterday and wondered if the images below of a torch on hi, med, then low are indicative of PWM on med and low?

High

Med

Low

Images re-posted to be seen. You only need the http:// part when you are posting and image using the picture URL link.

Now in answer to your question about the PWM, I am not sure. It doesn't look like all of the LEDs are illuminated in the picture. That would have to be some really slow PWM to catch the LED not lit at all and would expect it would be so slow you'd see the LED flashing on the wall when you move the light around.

Try this out: Put your phone in video mode. Make a video. If you have a newer iPhone, try slow motion. You should really be able to spot some PWM!

All 3 LED's are definitely lit in all modes and i can detect no flickering to my eye, though there is a buzzing on med/low, but only noticeable with torch to my ear - this is a Trustfire TR-3T6 that i've had for a couple of years now, before i discovered Nitecore/Olight/Thrunite etc :)

Tried the slow-motion video which yields similar, albeit moving, results :) I'm afraid the video looked a lot better before youtube got hold of it!
sorry, can't work out how to embed it :(
