Dereelight Nightmaster 800

Greetings,

I have my sights set on the Dereelight Night Master 800, but want the version with the new 2MT-S engine as I believe it's optimized for a single 18650 battery. I have no interest in the tube extensions and multi-battery set-up's, and would prefer to stick with the 18650 batteries as I have quite a few of them. Problem is, there are no US dealers that have it. The only Night Master torches I've found are the older DBS/ez900 version (2MT-M), or the XP-G2 version (2MT-M).

I looked at ordering directly from Dereelight, but fell out of my chair when I saw a $50 shipping charge. I also want to buy the XSearcher head along with it.

Anyone know where I can get the new 2MT-S version? I haven't heard anything from Dereelight regarding the shipping charge to determine if it's accurate or not.

In the meantime, is there another torch that would provide the same function (aspherical lense, long throw, narrow beam, near-zero spill) that uses a single 18650 battery?

By the way, it seems the EZ 900 is very highly regarded...Is that preferred to the XP-G2?

Email Alan at Dereelight.. I had the same problem with $50 shipping... it's some sort of website glitch and after I emailed him, he said he would fix it... and when I went back and ordered, shipping to US was FREE!

I recently purchased a DBS-T head and the Neutral De-domed XP-G2 2MT-S pill... it works great as a 1x18650 thrower... make sure you mention that you want the de-domed neutral emitter, not sure if it's standard, but it should be.

I have both the Nightmaster 2MT with the EZ900 led and it has a very tight beam.

I also have the Xsearcher and I like the EZ900 the best.

Unless you have a very specific need and numbers that vastly favor the XR-E for your purpose, I would get something with the de-domed XP-G2 since it is a more modern emitter and designed to work with 1x18650 and is available in Neutral temp/tint.

I don't have an XR-E setup, so I am not saying it won't work better for you... but it seems outdated.

If the 106k or 202kcd are not enough from the Deree options above, you're probably going to want to look a larger lights... likely 3x18650.
