Today I want to make a couple solarforce L2x ext with quadriple inside.

The first will be black.

Body. Stock body with Cryos M2 cooling bezel

Pill. Solid cooper pill. I covered it with silver.
Now you get a +2 to your karma, and you can not be afraid of vampires :D

MCPCB. Custom made cooper MCPCB plate with direct connect interface.

Driver. AvSEL V5 2xLi-ion – 6V, 4 mode driver. Driver efficiency up to 96%.
In Hi mode, we have 3A 6V (1.5A for each LED), in low mod each LED get 20mA.
Driver have a thermal control, last mode memory, battery capacity indicator

LED. 2xXPL hi 3000k and 2xXPL hi 4000k.

In this combination we got ~2500 lumens from the light.

An excellent build! I recognize that quadruple board, I purchased some from dsche a few weeks ago. I've not gotten around to flowing the LEDs on the board, as it would be the first time I've attempted it.

May I ask how you arranged the XPL-Hi on the board? I've seen that image that Alexey made, but I don't know why some of the LEDs are on an angle. Wouldn't they be parallel with the bare copper strips?

That body is two 18650's, or two 18500's? My build is just one 18650.

thank you all for your interest :)

this was done deliberately in order to remove artifacts from the hot spot

so the same LEDs on these bords can be connected both in series (2S2P) or in parallel (4P)

That body is two 18650's, or two 18500's?

Yes, its "regular" L2X ext (2x18650)

p.s. Now think what to put in the "green crocodile" from the first photo - XP-E2 or Nichia 219A 4500k 92CRI

Re: arranging LEDs on quadruple MPCB

May I ask for some help on this? I'm putting XPL-Hi LEDs on my MPCB, but am not certain I am doing it correctly.

My driver is the Mountain direct drive, and the quad from dsche. Do I arrange the LEDs so that their Anode (+ side) is away from the center? My multimeter says that the outermost strip of the three are connected to the crescent shaped contact. Does this sound correct?

I didn't know you still had vampires there....

Nice mod by the way!

My God, is there any place where they are not? :))

I took a few photos:

quad in this photo from the first edition, there is more visible polygons with copper foil

if you deploy all the LED cathode to the center, while the crescent moon will anodes

All this is true if we want to solder our LEDs parallels

p.s. my l2x ext LEDs connected in series-parallel 2s2p

Thank you for that. I forgot to mention that I'm running a single 18650. That means I need to double the + wire from the driver to feed both sides of the mpcb, correct?
