I'm looking to find the difference in the beam between these two leds. Specifically differences in hotspots. I have Xp-G2 lights, LD11 and LD22 and they are pretty throwy with a tight hotspot. Is an XP-E2(R3) light going to have a larger hotspot? I was looking at specs of the LD09 2015 edition compared to the LD11 and it looks like runtime wise they are nearly identical. Curious how the beam patterns match up. Thanks

I have 2 Oveready Triple P60 drop ins. One in XP-G2 and the other with XP-E2. The XP-E2 is by far a more focused beam with much more throw.

if they use the same optic, and same drive current. The xp-e will have a smaller and tighter hotspot, and dimmer flood. The xp-e is a smaller led than the xp-g, so focus will be tighter.

Thank you both that's what I wanted to know. Strange that a little light like an LD09 would be have such a focused throw beam. Maybe I'm strange.
