Eb2 backup bored for 18650 vs pr1 peacekeeper?

If you compare a Eb2 backup (or any equivalent surefire) to the p1r peacekeeper, and both were running 18650 3400mAh cells. Which one would preform better/have a longer runtime?
Anyone have a chart of either of these with 18650 3400mAh cells?
Pros and cons?

I don't know that an EB2 can even be bored for an 18650 cell - it's too skinny. Or is your question simply theoretical?

One major difference between the two is the LED used - with that info you could probably estimate performance. The EB2 uses an XP-G2 (so I've heard - also heard they use Osram Square LED's) and the P1R uses XM-L2. Could just check the data sheets on those leds.

The other approach you could take is to take SF's specs for the EB2 on CR123's and multiply by the additional 30% (ish) capacity you would gain by running a 3400 mah 18650. But I think this discussion is mostly academic because the EB2 body tube is awfully thin for an 18mm cell.

It has been done. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb...anium-lights&p=4593781&viewfull=1#post4593781
But now that you are bringing up that it is skinny would it compromise the strength of the light?
How do you estimate the performance with the led data?
Going by the 30% method it would be close to 3 hrs(2.25hr plus 30%)? How long does the peacekeeper got with a 3400mah battery?

In my newbie opinion it would definitely compromise the structure of the light. It would not be something that I would even consider. I mean those EB2 bodies ain't cheap either! Plenty of other 18650 options from Malkoff, Fivemega, Oveready, etc that are already GTG. Why risk it? I'd tell you to simply use a 2500 mah 16650 battery with the EB2 but I've heard those don't work and the modes get all crazy.

Knowing the LED you could at least compare the efficiency at X amperage by checking out the data sheets. I am pretty sure that the XM-L2 is more efficient at higher amps and the XP-G2 is more efficient at lower amps. So depending on how you wanted to use the light you could have some idea which one would be better for your needs. The XP-G2 is also a smaller die size (much smaller) so it will have higher LUX. Plus it's running a TIR optic which pushes the LUX even higher. The P1R will have much more spill.

The reviews pasted below have P1R runtime graphs with a 2600 mah battery. Couldn't find any with a 3400. Also pasted an EB2 review. Take a look.
