Porn-site user homepages???

I noticed that a bunch of the 'users' in the User List have porn sites listed as their homepage (e.g. the users starting with zero). What up with that?

Dunno about any specific users, but it's pretty common that if you register a domain and eventually let it expire, some porn site will grab it and redirect it to their site. So if a user has a home page on an ISP that later goes out of business and lets its domain expire, anyone who tries to get the user's old page gets the porn site instead. Porn sites will do practically anything to attract viewers.

Looks most of the 'Users' were registered the latter part of 2003.

Who are the users? Just curious...

if you click on the user list, you can instantly see which users. Btw, even the domain name is smell of porn. I don't believe the porn sites can change the domain name so the name is already been there, right?

lol. They should erase all the names in the "user list" that were obviously created for advertising purposes and monitor this occasionally. They create names with lots of zeros because they know they will be listed on the first page of the user list and might get a few site hits that way.

It would be useful to report things such as this directly to at least one CPF Admin.

So what was the deal? Was it legit users who just happened to choose to link porn sites to their name or was it user names created for the explicit purpose of promoting the web sites.

The other admins and mods have been going through and deleting the ones that they see. If anyone else finds any, please notify your nearest administrator or moderator and we'll take care of it. I talked to the server dude about this and he said he can write me a script that would prevent this type of thing from happening. I'm going to wait until I upgrade the software and then I'll have him do that for us.
