Yes what cells are being used , if anything ending in fire then that will be it.
6 matching good cells is a must along with a decent stand alone charger/s( don't use the built in charger unless a real emergency ).
Also presuming poor quality cells and you replace with good , don't leave in the light for longer than a couple of days/week due to parasitic drain . Basically after use just remove the cells from the light. Charge up and leave stored till next use etc.
