Though bad news for anyone wanting continuing development of the Nik product line (other than the smart device version of Snapseed).

Now I just need $700 for photoshop so I can use the free software! All kidding aside, this is great news over the short term, but agree with stephenk that it's not very promising for the long term

In the long run (or not so long taking into account the pace of digital era) it'll become outdated without further development.
$700 for Photoshop? :faint: I hope it's a typo... It's far cheaper to buy a stand-alone software for HDR manipulations. Just checked the price for the one I use https://aurorahdr.com - $79, it's 10(!) lower price.
