today's XKCD: Garden. might be another time-lapse cartoon?

Today's XKCD might be of special interest to the CPF crowd, if only because you get to play with three lights. As usual, there are no instructions; just one light pointing at the featureless ground.

Clicking on the light brings up a control that lets you adjust the color balance from red-ish to white to blue-ish. There is also an arrow that allows you to aim the light and control the beam width.

In the upper right is a button that lets you add two more lights.

Mousing over the cartoon brings up the text "relax". Since this is a garden, according to the title, I'm assuming that if I wait, stuff will begin to grow. I've waited 10 minutes and haven't seen anything change yet.. do I have to wait 2 or 3 weeks?

okay... some results so far... this is some sort of time lapse comic and stuff is growing! The color of the light makes a difference. I've got octopuses(?) growing under the blue light and cactus and tortoises growing under the red light. Not sure what's going on under the white light.

overall, pretty cool and fun.
