Last week while on vacation with the family, we discovered our hotel room needed a night light. Out came the PAL Gold. Set it on a dresser, pointing at the ceiling, switched to the low setting. Worked perfectly. Ran it this way every night for four nights. Try that with and incandescent flashlight!

I always travel with my PAL.

I use my EternaLight (model 2) as a nightlight, too. I put it in the dimmest mode, set it on the floor on its side with the single lit LED on the high side, and point it where the dog lies beside my bed when he gets out of his crate. (For some reason, neither one of us likes it when I step on him. Go figure.

) Oddly enough, it's almost too bright.

I've used it this way for a couple of weeks now, and still no sign of the thing getting dimmer.

i'd buy one of your taplights in a heartbeat j, i've seen "imitation taplights" where the supplied bulbs wouldn't last 15 minutes

My kids use a taplight that I put one 4000 mcd wide emission LED into with a 24 ohm resistor. With 4 AA batteries we get at least 150 hours.
