How hard is it to chip the color off the muyshondt aluminum? Is it prone to chipping/scratching the color off?

Enrique specifies HA III on the website, so it's of better quality than a lot of others, and more durable than, say, cerakote. It is a coating though, and will chip given enough effort.

Type III can "wear" off with a lot of abrasion, but I wouldn't call it "chipping" like you would see with paint, or even cerakote. Good anodizing is surprisingly durable, and takes considerable contact with other hard items to show significant wear. I think you'd be pleased with it. Check out the "show your beat up light" thread for examples of worn finishes.
