Just for fun, I strapped 5 different lights to the front of my mountain bike to see what each light would be like if used as a headlight.

Look closely at the Costco building to see the spread of the beam.

Tn36utvn... Wins. But seriously, you'd be dealing with some PISSED OFF drivers you share the road with!

Hey awesome pics BTW. Would have loved to see how the tm16gt compares to that line up tho!

Yep, the TN36UTVN is the only one that you can clearly see the "Costo" sign. It lights up the whole building...and parking lot. Sweet light for sure. But like others said...you would have some pissed off blinded drivers. I have a regular TN36 UT...honestly to powerful to use on turbo around my neighborhood as I don't want to **** off people.

Where did you have the camera that you managed to take these shots...they are great...

This was an extremely helpful thread. Thanks for the great pics. I've been looking for something that would give me a much brighter and wider flood for my mountain biking on trails at night. Seeing the contrast between these lights has made things a lot easier for me. I have a Thorfire BL01 that I use for when I'm on/near roads, so I'm not worried about blinding oncoming drivers.

Thanks!

How long can the respective outputs photographed be sustained?
If not long at all even with passive cooling and full cells, perhaps it would be more useful testing on the lower output levels.

Some of the best beam shots I have seen! What's the distance?

By counting parking spaces and road width, I'd say about 160-170 feet from where the bike is to the building.

Parking spaces are close to 10 feet wide, road 30 feet wide, island 6 feet and the building parking space 20 feet long.
