It was my pocket rocket 10440, showoff keyring king.

Butt, I never would have found its successor, the new Keyring King...the Ultratac K18 Brass
The side switch, intuitive UI, the usable low and insanely bright high (plus strobe)
Brass has much better thermal transfer than SS, and the price is sweet.

It's the only light that I ordered more within the first hour of receiving it.

congrats on your new lights, sorry for your lost Fenix
I also thought Brass was an excellent conductor, and you are correct it is 2x better than Stainless, but, it is actually half as conductive as aluminum, and twice as heavy.

here is a chart from this page that says
"Brass however – which contains copper – is far less conductive because it is made up of additional materials that lower its conductivity, making it unsuitable for electrical purposes."

Material IACS (International Annealed Copper Standard)
RankingMetal% Conductivity*
1Silver (Pure)105%
2Copper100%
3Gold (Pure)70%
4Aluminum61%
5Brass28%
6Zinc27%
7Nickel22%
8Iron (Pure)17%
9Tin15%
10Phosphor Bronze15%
11Steel (Stainless included)3-15%
12Lead (Pure)7%
13Nickel Aluminum Bronze7%
So companies that sell us Brass lights, are not really doing us any favors, even though we all think Brass is similar to Copper, brass actually only conducts about 1/4 as well

while Im raining on your parade.. the K18 uses PWM, is Cool White and Low CRI.. but yes, it will work with 10440.. Rock On!

where is Titanium on this list, how far down is it? Cool post by the way!

Copper conducts heat almost Twice as much as Aluminum
aluminum conducts heat about twice as much as Brass
brass about twice stainless
stainless twice as much as tiranium

http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/th...als-d_858.html
Copper conducts 223 BTU
Aluminum conducts 118 BTU
Brass conducts 64 BTU
Stainless conducts 26 BTU
Titanium conducts 13 BTU

And yes, I think electrical conductivity follows similar ranking

anyway, after all that...the brass is 'cooler looking' than the aluminum 'colored' versions, even the 'gold'
and feels solid in the hand, and does not get too hot to hold on high for the 6 minutes I tried it just now
the side switch is just so sweet and it remembers the last mode

I only have one gripe, no tailstand!
