Haha. I actually decided to finally get a new car. 2016 Jetta. Love it. Will probably sell the Jeep to my brother pretty cheap and see if he destroys it or keeps it running for a while.

I have a 2008 Honda element ex all wheel drive. Taken it many times to places that I thought it would not make it. Needless to say it now has 197000 miles on it and only have replace the battery and drivers side window motor.

I must add I change my oil every 3500-5000 miles and have done this from the day I bought it. I'm very lucky to have a friend with a Honda shop and he takes good care of it for me.

I have a 07 Silverado with about 155,000 miles on it. Almost 7 thousand hours running. I live on Big Island Hawaii so very few "highway" miles. I probably change the oil every 20,000 miles if I'm lucky. It does mysteriously consume oil so I just add some every month or two. Very little maintenance so far. Has ran basically perfectly..... Recently noticed that the frame if very rusty. So much for galvanized metal. The body will fall apart before the engine fails

I go about 3500mi on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. As expected, it's blacker than black when I drain the old, so that always makes me want to do it sooner...but I don't. I always laugh about the automotive guys that obsess over the type of oil and filter. Of course they're important, but they'll argue for hours about how one is 1000x better than the other, synthetic, etc. But if you ask older people they have been doing it for years, a decent filter and basic conventional oil (Valvoline) does just fine and never killed their engine. I can almost guarantee it's going to get totaled or traded in before that happens. In most cases.

Coming in with my 1997 Chevy Tahoe with 311,015 miles. It was bought new in 1997 still has the same engine never rebuilt and untouched drivetrain except for the transmission. It was stolen in 1998 and the transmission got ripped out of it. Wilson County Sheriff's found it sitting by the road and wouldn't budge from the gears being tore out. Had it towed to the dealership where it was purchased from and got a new transmission. Other than she is completely stock and just like it came from the factory with a new paint job in 2008 and true dual exhaust in 2010. Have changed the oil myself every 5,000mi and all other fluids every 50,000mi. My pride and joy.

So true if it wasn't for my friend having his shop less than 1 mile away from my house I would probably still have the same oil in it when I bought it. Just add more often and top it off)

My 2011 Dodge Durango has 120,000+ miles and is still running perfectly. It has the 5.7L motor.

2008 Mazda 3 hatch just rolled 100,000. It's been a decent car, just not sure about it for another 100k.

I have a 1998 Oldsmobile 88 that I bought in 2012 with 185k on the clock; she's rolled over 212k now. Regular oil changes, filters, four new tires, a front wheel hub, starter and new radiator and hoses are all I've put into her, I think. I traded in an '09 Chevrolet Cobalt with 36k; I got the Olds and a check from the dealershipBeen an excellent automobile, and my wife loves her, too.
We also have a 1995 Oldsmobile Achieva with around 125k. Purchased over three years ago for super cheap, she's been a maintenance/repair nightmare (shouldn't have bought, but did anyway) but still much more economical than buying a new or middle-aged car; overall, it's been a good experience.
I like driving older cars with no payments, low insurance and licensing costs, and no worries about scratches and whatnot.
Honda, Subaru, and Toyota are prime candidates for shopping when the time comes.

Man I feel like such a baby with my low mileage vehicles now!
2005 Sprinter T1N with 189,000ish and still gets 28 mpg average.
2001 Tundra V8 with about 150k
Both pretty much bulletproof for me and the Sprinters average 500k between motor overhauls they say!

200k , WOW , wouldn't it be cool knowing that your motor would be good for 200k+ back when it had low mileage . That piece of mind with the transport investment.

I run two 97 escorts and a 98 A6. The escorts have 225k and 175k. The Audi has 190k. Nothing special for maintenance. Just pay attention to the sound of the engine for clues that something going wrong. Rebuilt the 175k escort 15k ago because of a failed valve seat (most common cause of failure on these cars) as have a mysterious electrical problem in the O2 sensor circuit I haven't been able to pin down yet in the Audi.
