Has anyone done a review of the 2015 Eagletac D25A XP-L HI? I'm very curious about the tint and the output with 14500 battery? The Eagletac website fails to give the output of the D25C and D25A with li ion. I can only find numbers with CR123A and AA. I see no mention of the tint of the XP-L HI either. The HD is listed at 6500k but isn't the XP-L HI supposed to be warmer?

If you have one of these could you comment on the tint and if output seems higher with li ion? If there is a review I missed so much the better. No shortage of reviews of the 2014 model but this one is totally different. Thanks!

I have the D25C XP-L HI and run on a single Efest 16340 IMR cell. The tint is around 5900k on my unit. The output is great and has a surprisingly nice beam profile.

I'm surprised it is so cool. Is real XPL HI ever that cool?

I would prefer the AA version IF output is as high as C if using 14500.

Thank you very much for the info. I'm amazed nobody has reviewed these lights.

The XP-L HI that i have range from 3600k to 6500k. Yes they are all true XP-L HI. I have more than 25 lights using XP-L HI.

I don't like how some OEMs have misled customers with highly suspect descriptions. I believe this is an attempt to confusing people what LED is actually used in a particular product.

A de-domed XP-L will shift towards a warmer/greener tint but the factory domeless (HI) emitters have pretty much the same range of the domed (HD) emitters.

I have some lights with XP-L HI in the 1C bin and the beam is as white as you will get IMO. Even nicer than XP-G2 which were claimed to be 1C as well..

So if XP-L high is not more neutral than XP-L HD I may as well go with HD. I think it puts out a little more lumens and a D25A is not a thrower.

Does anyone, anywhere have a 2015 D25A? Is output with 14500 as great as D25C with RCR123? THANKS!

XP-L HI is not more neutral than XP-L HD. You can have cool white for both. It's called XP-L HI V3 1A.

XP-L HI more throw less output.
XP-L HD more output less throw.
Ya but not much throw in either in that sized head. Too bad. I thought the HI version would have a little warmer tint. Only option is 219b

Don't jump to any conclusions about the 219B, it also ranges from 4000k-5700k. I have a D25LC2 and I would estimate it being in the 4500k range. It is noticeably warmer than lights that I know are the SW50 and cooler than lights I know are SW40.

5700K is OK. I actually prefer 5000k to 4500k
