I carry a Surefire P3X Fury Tactical all day, every day. I have the original model, with the finger groove tube, not the new knurled tube. I took the knurled tailcap off my Incan. 6P and swapped it out with the P3X Fury Tactical tailcap. My question is, will putting a tailcap designed for a 6 volt light on a 9 volt light present a problem? So far no :poof:, but I haven't run it continuously for a long time yet. It does make kind of an odd whining noise sometimes, though.

Should be ok, but I converted all mine to McClickies. So I can swap (lego) them all around between different light setups with no worries. That upgrade may be something you consider doing for about $25.

I run my Z41 McClicky on both Z2 & Z3 with no issues..
I always thought current will be a problem instead of the voltage level.

Yes, current is the issue. I think the stock switches handle around 3 amps, the McClicky bumps you up to 5 amps. That is why I even run the ZeroRes OR's in my twisties for amperage reasons in my "hotter" lights.
