I built a simple lux meter for funsies (microcontroller, 2-line lcd display, bh1750 sensor)
I'm wondering what kind of protocols are common or 'accepted' for measuring lux.
What distance, what environment, what other variables to record (temperature maybe?)
Not trying to publish anything academic here, just want a consistent methodology that at the very least can help me compare relatively between all of my lights.
I have a photography light box with different panel options, like white/green/black cloth walls and whatnot, if that's the route to take, but I suspect reflected light is something to avoid.
Any input appreciated. For now I'm thinking of just sitting in a pitch black bathroom and measuring 2ft away from sensor.
