I'd love to see these used to put an end to bluish white LEDs. Once you've seen a truly white LS, there's just no comparison.

If this can lead to larger and brighter devices, larger than the current 1W Luxeon dies, it could allow penetration into more market segments.

If a high-speed extrusion process could be developed, it would enable the replacement of fluorescent bulbs if the price was in range. Assuming their lifetime was equal to or better than 11 years, it would make economic sense.
