Hello again everybody! After my happy purchase and ownership experience with my Zebralight SC600 MKIII HI, I now own a few nice UNPROTECTED 18650 cells. With the exception of UltraFire 18650 protected cells, many protected 18650 cells do not fit in the Rofis JR20, The 'new, unprotected" 18650 cells seem to fit fine in the Rofis JR20, BUT IS IT SAFE?

Of course it is safe. Don't put the cell in backwards and don't drain the cell too far, 2.8 volts is a good minimum cutoff point. You will likely notice far in advance of undervolting because the light will likely lose modes and be dim in general.
