Is there a light that is close to 3k lumens 2500+ that can be considered a edc piece. I dont want anything that will melt my hand in 2 seconds. I also dont want to pay $400 bucks for a torchlab wasp. I am willing to deal with a slightly larger light for heat distribution and dispersal that works on 2x 18650 or 1x 26650.

i would not consider 2x18650 or 1x26650 EDC but ok for you..
as you say, at that light level, you also have big heat problems, making either weight or size a lot bigger than the 1000 lumen 18650 lights, which also get pretty hot

Sure - single 26650 - check out the olight R50 pro that is releasing soon at 3200 lumen, the existing R50 Seeker at 2500 lumens, or the R50 seeker modded by Vihn at 3000~ with different tint and LED options. Acebeam EC50 Gen II is out with 3000 lumens also.
The P60vn drop in from Vinh54 (SkyLumen) comes in a few varieties, several of which are near 3000lm.
All you need is a suitable host (he sells those too) and you'll have yourself an EDC sized beast.
His brightest P60 is a mule which you could fit into a Solarforce, Surefire 6P/C2, etc.
Spec 7: Quad MULE XPL HI 4000K + Dual XPL V6 Dome on, Cooler neutral wall of light ANSI 3600 Lumen $180
All you need is a suitable host (he sells those too) and you'll have yourself an EDC sized beast.

convoy s2+ triple can give you 2500-3000lm driver dependent(shorter is in 18350 guise) .

TTree are several custom builders out there that can build you a triple like those Convoys or a nice triple P60. There are even a few guys offering quad options now. If ya check out flashlight fanatics on Facebook there are plenty of guys with lights like you are looking for.
+1 for r50vn, this siZe is as large as I will go for EDC. But it works. Today I'm EDCing p60vn quad in 6p host

There is a quad up for $70 right now that's pretty close to what you want....
But everything is about tradeoffs...3000 lumens,but really how long can the light put that out, or how often will you use it?
I run a sinner triple,copper. Use it every day. Gets hot fast, so far no problems. But not cheap...but a hell of a lot of light...

Realistic your looking about 40s or so due to heat, but for a quick blast how long would you need 2500lm. If needed for longer then simply take a larger light if it becomes an issue. The lower modes are very usable and imo(and my uses) 200lm more than covers most EDC type uses. But for that one time you need to light up all ahead, then having a good bit in reserve is handy to have. A light this size, much over 400/500lm is going to get toasty!

Acebeam EC50 Gen I Vn at 3,100 lumens is what I have been edcing for a while now; I gleefully jumped on this item as soon as it came out.

that depends how you feel about carrying 1/2 a pound or more:
EC50 = 7.65 oz. w battery
G20 = 8.04 oz. w battery
R50 = 8.99 oz. w battery

This is a very good thread! 3000 lumen EDC that wont melt your hand hmmm....the two highest output lights I have that can be EDC's of the reliable 2500+ OTF class are the Convoy L6 and a custom built 4000 lumen 2 D Mag build from Adventure Sports Flashlights(CPF member vestureofblood's business). Either light easily gives 2500 OTF reliably without melting my hand and can do it basically until the cells run dry. Highly advise both lights. Your not going to get away with small ultra high output lights to EDC that will melt your hand and only maintain max output for a minute or two...
I've seen two reviews where it tested north of 3000 lumens. Mhanlen has a good review of it.
I have one. The tube is thinner than the r50 or ec50/60 lights, but the carry comfort or weight is not any better than those 26650 lights.
Turbo consumes the battery in under 20 minutes, and by around minute 4 it has hit regulation temp and dimmed.
I like the tm03 a lot, but the r50 would be my EDC pick as it is rechargeable, can tailstand, and has a lanyard. The tm03 is brighter but not as versatile.

You might also look into VOB's XHP70 p60 drop in. I love mine! Fully programmable as well!
