Surefire E2D LED (200 Lumens) Head Upgrade?

Take it easy on me, I'm new. I'm following up on an OLD post from 2008. I have a Surefire E2D LED Defender 200 Lumens and I know that a new one has come out (Ultra) at 500 Lumens. Since it seems like the design and casing are very similar to each other, can I just purchase a replacement lamp for my 200 Lumens flashlight with the new 500 Lumens lamp? Will it work? Or can I get an upgrade that's not OEM from somewhere.?

Any suggestion is very much appreciated.

Malkoff make replacement heads for the E2 bodies.
Go to malkoffdevices.com and search for E2. If you want more power you can fit one of their VME heads and put in a P60 type drop in, which Malkoff and many others make in various outputs, tint and throw.
