I just ordered a Peak El Capitian (in brass) to augment my Eiger.

How much brighter is the El Capitian than the Eiger?

(both my Eiger and my new El Capitian are High CRI versions..)

I'm running a lithium AAA in my Eiger, and I'll be running a lithium AA in my El Capitian.

The advantage of AA over AAA is typically run time not current. Although AA will be brighter, probably not enough to really matter

Thanks.

I sure love brass and copper lights.

(also have a copper Maratac CR123..)

Any idea what the lumen ratings are on the El Capitian vs the Eiger?

No clue on specifics. I went with the 10440 only copper eiger ultra X

If you want appreciable output difference stick a Li-ion in there

Can't say how the Peak driver works, but the AA will have ~twice the rated current of the AAA version (current is usually proportional to capacity). But even if El Cap can double the output of the Eiger, it will only appear ~41% brighter due to that logarithmic light perception thing (I personally believe in the inverse square thing, so 2^0.5=1.41).

If you want to stick to primaries, you can run Titanium Innovations CRAA 3V Li primaries in an El Cap - it's a CR123 in AA size (although seems currently out of stock from Batteryjunction).

Then again, you have to be more careful with battery crusher design like the Peak QTCs when used with high voltage Lithium primaries/rechargeables.
