There is a recent article in Design News talking about an InGaN LED from LumiLeds that is much more efficient. Check out lumileds.com for the whole story.

Might that LED be the new 18-lumen "Luxeon Star power light source" LED that has been discussed elsewhere (newer brighter leds thread)? Or is it another type of led, it`s been a few weeks since I checked the LumiLEDs site.
