Will Nitecore MH20GT work with a LG HG2?

I am thinking of getting a MH20GT but have read that it is designed for only button tops cells, I have a large supply of HG2's and have found they will work in most of my lights designed for button tops probably due to slightly raised smaller flattop terminal, does anybody who own a MH20GT with a LG HG2 can verify this for me? Thanks

I own a MH20, and I suppose these two lights are pretty similar except the length/reflector and LED. My LG HG2 doesn't work with MH20 at all. Neither does my NCR18650GA, even though it has a large button top. Looks like those NITECORE flashlights with that reverse-polarity protection are all incompatible with flat-top or large-button cells. They seem to work only with cells of small button-top.

I got an P12 with same polarity protection.
you could remove the plastic or add a small magnet on top of the Battery

but in fact its better to use a protected cell as the drain of the flashlight is not that high at all
