Hey guys I'm new to the site and was thinking about selling my lx2 for a eb2 backup. Just wanted to get some opinions on the two lights . thanks

The EB2 will outperform the LX2 on high by a lot, 16,000cd versus 9,000 for the LX2.
You'll find the head a bit bigger though, and the LX2's low mode rated at 15 lumens(but is really 30-40) is very useful as a general purpose mode.
I find the 5 lumen low on the EB2 and E1D a bit low for that kind of use.

I have both LX2, EB2 as clicky and twisty model. Loke robert said, the EB2 is much brighter.

The biggest difference today would be the LX2 has a 2 stage twisty, the EB2 has a clicky. The twisty version of the EB2 is not available anymore since a year or so...

Yes, too bad for the EB1 and EB2 that SF dropped the fantastic two stage press/twisty on those, what were they thinking.

I really like the 15 lumen low, I think the EB2 should have 15 lumens for low as well to make it a lot more versatile.
