Exciting stuff mr buff, it is a beast of a light, more than enough throw, 12k of intense retina melting hot spot/spill in a host large enough to handle it! One thing better than a beast of a flashlight, thats a usable beast of a flashlight.....................

Yes, ven, and even more exciting when seen in real life.

It's all about power/throw ratio per head diameter class. Four inch head diameter: All power, low throw.... Or: All throw, low power, or.... lots of both!

Or: All three. That is why we have lots of lights in different size classes: To cover all of the bases. I think this light covers a hitherto uncovered base!

Unless it's EDC , size is pretty much n/a for me when it comes to power houses. Said before, but if I am holding a tn36vn or an rc40vn, my hand can only hold that light.....might as well be a beast!

Small hot hot rods are fun and have their place, but for other than wow ,they can be limited in run times of inhibited by heat that they generate. Still we have lower modes to keep it all flexible and offer the chance to have a pocket search light......just have to work quick to find the missing subject!

The x65vn has my interest ,highest output thrower today ,enough in the tank to throw and get more than enough adequate light down range for hours if needed.

Its a mighty fine looking light as well what I call a proper flashlight When a low mode is 500lm and it won't fit in a holster...

Don't get the cold blue Spec 1 shown in the video. Even though the TN40vn wasn't as bright, I could see more detail in the trees due to its neutral tint.

I would agree with everyone on the neutral white version. That's the one I would pick if I was getting one.

He can change the batteries out but with 8 cells I don't think it will make a huge difference in output.

Sure thing. I have been putting Christmas lights on the house and plan to finish that up so I will try and find time this weekend to get the "vn" lights out for a little photo shoot.

Because I ordered it and I sent my payment the same day that Vinh opened this topic. http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/...=1#post5003575

It is not dark yet, but this is best compared to K70: Brighter, larger diameter beam and useful spill.

I watched the vid last night and boy oh boy are you right about that. I thought the TN40 had a cool tint compared to the T6vn but compared to the X65vn (spec 1) the TN40 looked warm. Definitely gotta go with spec 2 for this light.

I am just back from a windy, driving rain two mile walk with the Acebeam X65Vn in one hand, and the Acebeam K70Vn in the other hand. Never have I walked in such weather, and not minded the weather.

Anyway, both lights CW, one is not cooler whiter than the other.

Compare beam profiles: Both throw the same, and the centers of both beams are of same brightness per same distance.

The difference is that the K70 has a more precision, narrow beam; and the X65 takes that same beam, same throw and brightness, and dials the beam width up some.

Wider beam, larger diameter hotspot, same tint, same beam reach. This is a lot more useful aiming down two city blocks. Not just a spot down the road, but the width of the street has light, too.

Next, compare beam profile with the Fenix TK75VnQ70.
