I have seen that the use of grip tape to aid with light-retention has been on the forum for a decade or more, but wanted to share how TractionGrips is slightly different. It is not stair tread tape, but rather a rubbery material which is formed onto the surface using heat (hairdryer works).
Had an extra set lying around, so I cut up some pieces to fit around the barrel of the 2L while leaving space for the clip. The long-term issue of friction from the cordura sheath yet to be determined, but it sure is easier to hold onto at the moment!
