A quick Google search came up with some interesting custom lights. They seem to be designed around the 123A cells that Surefire started using all those years ago and even have the ability to use Li-Ion versions of those cells. Since they can run both I would say you can most certainly use a 17670 or 16650. The former might be a snug fit or not fit at all while the latter should have room to spare length-wise as the RCRs will need a bit more room as each one will have a Protection CB on it.

I can personally recommend Keeppower 16650s as these are used in my three Surefire lights (two 6Ps and a C2) and have given me no problems at all. If you want to use 18650s though I imagine that yes, you will need to have it bored out to 18mm inner diameter. I wouldn't bother unless you have a very specific reason to maintain only one battery type, the 16650s are now close to the 18650s of the previous generation in capacity and I can imagine will only get better.

Thanks for the reply. Are 16650 close in diameter as to fit relatively snug and not rattle?

I was hoping to fit an 18650 in there cause I vape and I have twenty something 18650 batteries laying around. But I agree I'm not going to bore it out. I'll look into 16650s.

good commercial, :rolleyes:
(in some forums I visit such a post would be an offense ...)

PS: that price is simply ridiculous²

but - in case that really is a real question:
* that light is meant for 2*CR123 ... so using a single cell can but must not work

* You know what those numbers (at cells) mean?
... 1st 2: diameter
... next 2: lenght
... last one: "0" ... for cylindrical cell.
CR123 = 16350 ... 16 mm Diameter, 35 mm long, cylindrical
now check how much space Your CR123 have inside the light, to decide, if 1*16650 (direct replacement for 2*CR123), 17xxx or 18xxx might fit in
... again: without knowing if that will work!

and the price is still immoral

better:
1*18650 "host" flashlight body, P60 led insert ...

CR123 = 16340
16650 will work. 18650 will not work. Not sure about 17650, but 16650's have more energy so it's pointless to worry with 17650 unless you already have some.

16650 will work.
will work SIZEwise,
did I mean sizewise?
:rolleyes:
without the maker being able to give info on input voltage range, the best guess is, that - with one cell - the light might go direct drive and thus be underdriven

but again - as a few seem not to have understood my point(s):
I highly doubt that someone purchases a 200,-- light and does not yet know all these things asked
