So I have one P60 quad dropin blank here. And I am not sure what to do with it. It takes a 20mm triple or quad board. It is made for 24mm quad carclo 106xx optics (20mm triple optics might look a tad funny) and a 17mm driver.

My last build was a quad XPG2 warm white high CRI mule. I want to see what you all would build given this. I need ideas.

Mmmm if it has to be a quad then 2x xpl HI 4000k and 2x xpl HI 5000k . If not I am very impressed with the shaved dome xhp70. Either 5000k or the HI cri version as a mule. Then there are the new nichia 219C 4000k that would make a nice quad(or triple).

It would need to be a quad or triple with the way the hole thru the blank is drilled. Matt (adventure sport) does sell a really nice blank for this purpose, but that would be something different

I am interested in ideas and curious if CPF can come to a consensus on what TO build. The quad builds hold any XP sized emitter. XPG, 2, 3 XPL, Hi, XPE, 2 219B, C. Mix and match tints, but not emitter types.

Optics are tight spot, spot, medium, flood, mule.

Driver: FET, FET+7135, or even the cream of the crop H17F. Or skip all those and get a noPWM regulated driver?

I do have a triple 219C 90cri on the way but I did not intend for it in here (it does not have a planned home yet).

if someone buys me an extension kit for a C2 to fit 4x18350 this can be quad XHP35 :candle:

I think a tribute to nichia would be pretty cool, 4 different nichias, maybe 4000k, 4500k,5000k and maybe 5700k in 219b and 219c flavours for a quad nichia variety p60..One of each or 2 of B/C

Ven, due to you let's revisit this:grin2:

I do like the Nichia idea. So far I ordered a 4000k 90cri 219C and a 5700k 90cri 219B.

Let's fill in the rest.

Also a good chance this will be my last P60 build as I am a bit disenchanted with them. Ensuring electrical contact with aluminum foil just isn't that reliable.

Ven. Still working on the nichia celebration, those parts, or at least some of it is in the mail. Ordered two more shells.

In the mean time. What do you think?

So I have a flood optic and spot optic. Thoughts? Don't think I'll mule-ize it.

mmmmmmmmmm tough call, i would maybe try spot having a couple of HI's in there and use the flood for the nichia tribute(all that hi cri would be great close up to moderate in flood).

You could always try both and see which complements the LED varieties best...................dont you just love predicaments like this :D

Testing sans optic. Tint is quite unique. It hovers in the low 3000k as the XPL is a bit brighter. This is on moon as turbo will flood the camera :D

Nice...:twothumbs

All that Hi CRI would be nice for close-up to medium. Do they make mixed quad optics perhaps w/Nichias on flood and XPL's on throw.

Where they stop I pick up. Although truthfully this tape does not provide nearly as much scatter as you might hope. It is a bit more transparent than you would think. Perhaps another brand. Another idea would be to take some sandpaper and rough up the area over the Nichias.

OMG, gotta see some pics of this in field! Awesome. I like the idea of roughing up the Nichia lens as well.

If you make it... they will come.
