OK, so the mass market retailers now have mostly LED flashlights in the hanging cards by the checkout, just past the movie magazines and over the breath mints. But I think a new threshold has been reached. I was at the local Mennonite Central Committee thrift store while my spouse was looking for possible cheap Christmas decorations. Naturally I gravitated to the hardware/household area. Sometimes there are neat old collectible flashlights ( still kicking myself I didn't pick up the Radarlite that I saw that was so old, it was made in Canada - still worked). But now even the thrift stores are getting LED lights. Picked up a Dorcy that still worked, good battery and switch - for $1.50, it can replace the PR2 clunker my mother-in-law uses for checking her attic for squirrels.

Yup, and these days you can buy PR or E10 style to replace your bulbs too.

Haven't found any E10's I like for some oldies but it's nice to see them out there.

Good lookin' out for your ma-in-law there.
