In a word... no.
Good LED? Well I'd have to speculate that Mag did a lot of R&D before it went into production to ensure as few failures as possible would result.
They have computer software that simulates real world situations.
Side bar: PK told me at SureFire he hired a Phd from USC to program computers to simulate real world situations of potential abuses of things they were designing. He said back then 1 math formula would take a week for the computer to calculate, so the guy had 4 computers doing calculations 24 hours a day so he would not have to sit around twiddling his thumbs while one computer did its thing.
Nowadays computers are much faster and better at predicting things.
End side bar.
I accidently killed a ML25 last year so I took it apart to see if what you are asking was an easy thing.
It's a proprietary pill that comes in it.
Note the photos were after figuring out how the thing was assembled so some destruction had occured.
The assembly.
I used (iirc) a 19mm socket and a hammer to pop out the assembly through the tail end.
Taken apart.
Flat head screwdriver using a twisting motion popped the switch apart.
The pill.
A razor knife removed the plastic ears that hold the pill in.
I bashed them apart after ears were gone.
Then I figured out that wasn't required
Vice grips and a wooden dowel driven through popped the LED out.
Repeat to get it this far.
Note the LED chip will be destroyed, but hey it was already broken.
Flathead screwdriver got things apart.
But as you can see the pill is a special Mag only deal.
Do not use 123's in the 2 or 3 cell as it will fry the LED.
No poof occured, but it did make a sizzling sound as it dimmed to darkness.
