Not too rare, but still sought after and a true classic. Black seems to be more sought after too.

Not sure about a LED, however, look up Lumens Factory. HO-A2. It is Not a LED, but it is a 120 lumen High Output incandescent. Which makes a huge difference and makes it a awesome light. I have them in all my A2's and I have several spares.

Welcome to CPF.

It's pretty rare. I would advise not to EDC it. And don't mess with it.

Edit.. I think I see some dings on the bezel already so EDC away...lol

Carry it. I use all my lights. They were made to be used.
I don't see too many black a2s . But I also hate shelf lights.

Plus I agree with str8 about LF HO-A2

Yes, it's rare

It is a little difficult to tell from your picture, but it looks like it has the completely flat (earliest generation) bezel

No, please don't modify it

Personally, I would use it carefully, but not EDC it

Also, some of the newer bulbs (both SF and LF) don't work well in the older 4-flats generation tubes

To convert this light to LED is to destroy it. The regulator which regulates the beam for the lamp assembly has too low a frequency to work with LED, it'll look like a strobe light.

Either way, why would you want to turn this beautiful, one-of-a-kind light into yet another boring LED light? Enjoy the perfect color rendition from the regulated incandescent lamp instead!
