...why not spend another 100 bucks and get the Acebeam X65??
Has anybody seen the extra battery option yet?

No reason not to, so I did. The five XHP35 emitters in large enough reflector wells is the magic formula that Acebeam stumbled upon to get the killer beam profile and beam performance that I have been looking for.

Extra battery option for which one, the Fenix or the Acebeam?

I want an extra battery pack for the X65vn, but instead of buying the extra battery pack, I am going to buy an extra X65vn.

I haven't seen the x65 spare battery for sale unless I just missed it.

Depends on what you want out of a light, one has 5 the other 6 reflectors. Different LED's, different packs of 6 and 8 cell. Rc40 allows a USB for a power pack.

Neither imho would be a wise choice standard , for not much more pick you led/colour temp and programmable driver. Vinhs 5000k option is a must on the x65vn. The rc40 is a bit week, breathed on by vinh and close to 8000lm and 500kcd makes for a great all rounder. F version for 20k and 200kcd for a wall of light...
