Hi all,
As some of you know I'm working as a contractor here in Iraq.

What none of you know the mind collects lots of useless bits of trivia.

One of my favorite games with the ham radio clubs was to find mentions of ham radio in science fiction books and challenge the club members to name the story.

Since this is a crew of lamp fans, perhaps I can do the same thing.

At the moment I have two quotes that come to mind. This is the easy one, the other is obscure even for me.

Let's see if this rings a bell…….

"No…more…Great…Pain! How do we know that Stone is a liar-"
Lights began flashing directly into his eyes (The rudest insult of Scanner to Scanner was this)

If you have a clue post there. Or make your best guess.

Hope all is well

P,
Damm your good.
And real quick.

When I go back to the tent for lunch (time here is 08:00) I will get the other book so I can make the quote proper.

This quote came from a recent reprint of
"The Rediscovery of Man" by Cordwainer Smith the short story
"The Scanners Live In Vain"

Nice to know Im not the only one who has the book. Might be the only copy in country.

Hope all is well
